The Outcome - Bon Appetit Challenge

Last Saturday, I spent the evening with my brother and sister-in-law working on the Bon Appetit Challenge. In order to broaden our horizons with cooking in the kitchen we like to go to Bon Appetit and challenge ourselves in the kitchen in Appetizers, Main Dishes and Desserts. We typically each select a course and then seek out a recipe from Bon Appetit to create. For this challenge, my sister-in-law selected the Appetizer, my brother selected the main dish and I selected the dessert. Here are pictures and links to the recipes we created.

What Day Is It?!

via
This week has not been ordinary by any means and maybe it is because I have two wonderful events to look forward to this weekend. Today, I thought it was Thursday, then reminded myself it is Wednesday when actually it was Tuesday.
Today was one of those days, I needed to slow down and just take a little time for myself.
I encourage you to slow down and take a little time for yourself today! For some of you, it is the middle of the week and just remind yourself, you are half way to the weekend!

Happy Wednesday!

New Project // Recovering a Carseat!

A dear friend of mine is having a little girl late this fall and asked in a sewing favor to recover the car seat they used for their little boy. I am so excited to try out a new sewing project! Keep up with this project in my current project tab! The little girl is due in November - so this project will be a moving!

This is the car seat I will be re-covering.

I Love Dixie!

Tonight, after a day full of work and an evening full of events, my sweet Golden, Dixie gave me those eyes... Guilt!
After a long walk... I got the eyes again - so off to the long hallway we go hoping a good ole tennis ball will do the trick!

Happy Playing!

I elect the Bon Appetit Challenge onto your Birthday, Brother!

First off, Happy Birthday, Justin!

I played Tetras with Polyvore and I seemed to win! Indeed I was able to get a lot of items down into the hatch without creating any disasters. Can you tell where this game of Tetras is leading us to? (drum roll, please) drum drum drum...

The Bon Appetit Challenge!

This wonderful collage of goodness is all to get you excited about your Bon Appetit Challenge this Saturday! Sharpen those knives, scrub down those pots and put on the apron with the most mileage! Bon Appetit Challenge, II, is going to be great!

My dear older brother - happy birthday to you - I am blessed everyday with a brother like you! (enter, tear...) (side camera shows, Justin handing her a napkin). You are the best, the funniest, you are just great! How were you so lucky to get a sister like me!?! Hehe.

none the less - greatly looking forward to partying this weekend during the challenge! I'm bringing a sous chef - Master Dixie.

Happy Birthday!

LW's Quilt

I was in a quilt making mood on Saturday shortly after completing Max's Quilt! I fell in love with Riley Blake's Peak Hour by Kellie Wulfsohn Fabric - LOVE!!

I created my own pattern this time around wanting to play on the zig-zag/chevron pattern. I cut 4.5 inch triangles and then started piecing them together!
Without further ado... here is the Peak Hour Quilt for Louis!

Happy Quilting!
