Keeping it Green for the Red, White & Blue

As we prepare to celebrate our Nation's 235rd birthday, on July 4th, I want to provide you with a variety of products and ideas to help keep your celebration "Green".

Red Gingham Cotton Napkins by Buy My Drap. While mine have not arrived at my doorstep yet - I cannot wait to use this ROLL of washable napkins at my next get together!
Tear-off, use, wash & resuse.

VerTerra Made out of only fallen leaves and water these plates and other products are wonderful! "environmentally-friendly plates, bowls and serving dishes are made only from two products: fallen leaves and water. They're non-toxic, biodegradable, compostable, durable, lightweight, convenient and downright stylish."

Pisgah Brewery After a recent trip to North Carolina I was able to indulge in local craft beers. I was very impressed with Pisgah Brewery's Pale Ale.
All Pisgah beers are certified organic.

My Golden Retriever, Dixie

9 Month Old Dixie

I want to start by sharing the most important dog in my life, Dixie. As days turned into weeks and weeks into months she has taught me many things, the most important thing being patience. Becoming a dog owner is a whole new set of responsibilities that I'm glad to have taken on in my life. Dixie will be a frequent visitor to my posts as she is with me everyday! For my powerful chewer of a dog the best dog toy brands we have encountered are: Nylabone, KONG and the Star Mark Everlasting Fun Ball. While I do not find these toys to be a "steal" they do last a very long time in our household.

An Introduction

I am trying to think of words to describe me to help introduce my blog and what to expect.

Here is what I came up with:
I love cooking - with a recipe.
I love crafting - anything, I cannot get enough.
I love organizing - I have reorganized my closet 5 times in the past 13 months.
I love color - organized color really - my bookcase is arranged by color.
I love my golden retriever - I cannot get enough of Dixie.
I love craft beers - I buy local as much as possible.

I am new to sewing and I want to try everything! I have never used a pattern... but will soon in the future. I do all the measurements as I believe they should be... it has worked out so far. I once heard, "to become a good sewer you must sew at least 20 minutes everyday."

Well I cannot give away everything about me or there will be nothing more to this blog.

thank you for joining me on this journey!
Kady
